Berkshire Hathaway’s core business is insurance, including property and casualty insurance, reinsurance and specialty nonstandard insurance. The Company averaged a phenomenal 25%+ annual return to its shareholders for the last 25 years while employing large amounts of capital and minimal debt. Warren Buffett is the company’s chairman and CEO.

ReBrandinG Competition June 2007

Although Warren Buffet Company generates revenue for the shareholders it doesn’t for Graphical Designers. Therefore we challenge all designers in the world to:

  • ReBrand the Name
    ReBrand Berkshire Hathaway in a more 2007 way. Subtle but effective, elegant but strong.
    (.doc or .txt) 
     
  • ReBrand the Logo
    Personally I don’t know whether Berkshire Hathaway has an official logo but please do ReBrand it!
    (800x600px,  CMYK, .PDF or .AI)
     
  • ReBrand the Stationary
    Now you came up with a name and logo the stationary must be designed as well!
    (Letter Head, B5, Business Card, CMYK, .PDF or .AI)
      
  • ReBrand the Website
    The Website of Berkshire Hathaway definitely needs us ReBrandinG it.
    (1 screenshot of homepage 1024x768px or higher and 1 screenshot of additional pages 1024x768px or higher)

The jagged emblem, based on the date 2012, comes in a series of shades of pink, blue, green and orange and will evolve in the run-up to the Games.

“This is the vision at the very heart of our brand,” said London 2012 organising committee chairman Seb Coe.

“It will define the venues we build and the Games we hold and act as a reminder of our promise to use the Olympic spirit to inspire everyone and reach out to young people around the world.
 

ReBrandinG The 2012 Olympics Logo

Although Seb Coe thinks that this logo will act as a reminder of their promise to the Olympic spirit there are numerous people who think otherwise. (Seth Godin, Susan Gunelius). Since the strength of the international individual graphical designers is to ReBrand this logo we as ReBrandinG the World challenge you all to redesign this logo of the Olympics 2012.

After months of prepartion ReBrandinG the World.com today went officially live. ReBranding as I will call this website in the next posts has always been a dream to me. The online place where people who are passionate about graphical identity design will meet eachother. We think you will have lots of fun with ReBrandinG the World and most importantly our competitions. Those competitions are just for fun and to show the whole world how brilliant your designs are.This website might be your showcase to the world.

I know what some of you think when you encounter Fortune500 companies with some horrible graphical identities: “I would have done a better job!”, and that is precisely what we want to do with this website. We want to challenge you to join us in ReBrandinG the World!
